KidKnowsThermometerThanks to KidKnows for sending me and the kids one of their outdoor thermometers to try out. This mercury free thermometer definitely takes the guessing out of what to wear and helps the seasonally challenged. Pictures of clothing are posted next on the opposite side of the number degrees side and colors are also associated with the temperature.

It can be frustrating rushing in the mornings with 3 kids trying to get them all out the door dressed and ready for school. The last thing I need to deal with is a kid dressed for summertime when it’s cold out and we have to pull thr breaks and stop the train after just gaining speed towards our destination.

We personally put our outdoor thermometer on our front door since it was close to the kids rooms. This morning they got up and each stopped by the window to determine what they should wear for the day. Even the 3.5 year old knew she needed to make sure to put on a long sleeve shirt at 50 degrees.

Gone are the days of yelling to change clothes with this baby around. Although I do still recommend knowing what the temperature will be for the remainder of the day as well in case you have to layer due to change in temp throughout the day.

OUR THOUGHTS:

SANY1229

This morning on the way in to school I drove while we had our “family discussion” of the KidKnows Thermometer. Ladybug, the oldest (10 year old girl) wrote the “minutes” as we all talked about what we liked and what we thought would be better.

Little One (3.5 year old girl): “Pretty colors!”

Peanut (8 year old boy): “I thought it was very easy to read and helpful to me in deciding what to wear.”

Ladybug (10 year old girl): “I wish it told me when I could swim but I still like it! Now if only it would pick out my clothes for me!”

Mom (31 year old): “I’m happy to see that all of my children could easily decipher this thermometer. It not only helps them make the right clothing choice, but, it gives them a mini science lesson in temperature. The only thing I would have preferred is if it was double-sided so that from the outside you could still read the thermometer just as easily as the front.”

OUR OVERALL RATING: THUMBS UP!

WHERE TO BUY: For $6.99 + 1st Class Mail shipping, you can purchase the KidsKnow Outdoor Thermometer directly from KidsKnow.

What would he wear year round? Undies on backwards or inside-out. Maybe shorts if I am lucky. Making my little man keep his clothes on is a chore!
