How To Make: BASIC Reversible Fleece Blanket

SANY1475

My 8 year old son has decided that he is now too big for super hero clothes and blankets so I thought I would make him a “big boy” blanket in his favorite shade of blue and dark gray. He’s not big into the fringe look so here’s a basic reversible fleece blanket that will keep him warm and happy while he watches a movie or plays games.

You’ll need…

  • Sewing Machine
  • Fleece Fabric
  • Complimenting Fabric
  • Thread to Match Fabric
  • Scissors

How to make a BASIC reversible fleece blanket…

  1. Sew the fabric pieces together with the wrong sides facing in towards each other leaving an opening no bigger than your hand.
  2. Put your hand through the opening you left and pull the fabric right side out.
  3. Fold in the fabric opening to match up with the other edges and hand stitch or sew a straight line to close it up.
  4. Voila! Your BASIC reversible fleece blanket is all done!

Some Tips…

  • If you have extra fabric left over, make a rectangular strap to go all around the rolled up blanket using a button to close the ends together.
