My Neck is in PAIN

Slimdec-1_4_201I swear I need one of these laptop risers for Christmas this year. My neck has been in so much pain lately from me working from the couch or my kitchen table and staring down to my laptop screen. I’d probably even settle for putting the laptop up on something and connecting a keyboard to it but do you realize the annoyance I’d face with toting my laptop, an external keyboard, my mini mouse (as I don’t like my touchpad) AND something to rise the laptop on? WAY too much crap for something that’s supposed to be portable.

This nifty guy would give me the perfect ergonomic solution to ease the neck tension and is supposed to be lightweight for easy travel. Looks like I wouldn’t need an external keyboard since I have easy access to the keyboard at an angle that is probably better positioned for me. Wonder if the laptop riser would fit neatly into my roll bag for traveling purposes…hmmm

Anybody have a laptop riser you’d like to share with me?

I use a laptop riser too, not because of the perspective it offers but because the bottom of the Mac gets hot. I feel that with a laptop riser, air can circulate under the laptop.

    Happy SITS Saturday!

I don't have a riser, but I do have a little logitech mat that lets air circulate at the base of the laptop. I find that it works really well.

Good luck finding something that works well – ergonomics are definitely important :) I hope your next feels better soon!

Can you move to a table or desk? If not, I suggest some good yoga moves (there are good ones on this site: http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/sequence_builder ) Take a break every 15-20 minutes and stretch yourself out. Neck pain is nothing to fool around with. :) Best of luck
