DreamingEarly this morning I woke up screaming. Absolutely startled my husband who shot up grabbing onto me thinking the worst. Once I was able to calm my nerves a bit and my thundering heart beat I couldn’t help but laugh at how silly I felt thinking it was reality when it was just a dream (or perhaps more of a nightmare)!

So my dream…

I opened my laundry room door which leads to the garage and noticed the garage door was open. I was about to reach out to close the door when I noticed palm sized tan spiders in a web in the door frame of the door leading to the garage AND 2 spiders near my foot in a floor web.

Let me say that I am TERRIFIED of spiders…I ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM! HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM…
Seeing images (like the one below) creeps me out!

Anyhoo…back to my dream…(and a quick turn of the mouse to get that horrid image from my sight…)

I see my daughter come into the open garage and start heading towards the door into the laundry room. I yell at her to go around and not go through the door. Does she listen to me? Of course not. (When does she ever really?)

She starts through the door and gets caught in the web and obviously aggravates the spiders in the web. They leave whatever thing they were messing with to go towards her head. I’m screaming and trying to swat a broom at the spiders near me so I can get to her (I swear the distance seemed so far yet in reality, it’s just a step).

These spiders are soooo aggressive lifting up on their “hind” legs and “screaming” noises are coming from it. They’re quick and quite frightful looking. Just as I think they’re going to bite her I scream.

And literally I scream out loud, startling my husband when then of course the dream ends.

So what does this mean? As much as I hate spiders, dreaming of spiders is actually not too bad in it’s meaning. It usually depicts good luck, something about money, being more careful, etc…but aggressive, attacking spiders?

This I had to look up in my “10,000 Dreams Interpreted” book by G.H. Miller…and here is what it says…

To dream of a spider, denotes that you will be careful and energetic in your labors, and fortune will be amassed to pleasing proportions.

If you dream that you see many spiders hanging in their webs around you, foretells most favorable conditions, fortune, good health and friends.

To dream of a large spider confronting you, signifies that your elevation to fortune will be swift, unless you are in dangerous contact.

If you kill the spider, you will eventually come into fair estate.

For a young woman to dream that she sees gold spiders crawling around her, foretells that her fortune and prospects for happiness will improve, and new friends will surround her.

To see spider webs, denotes pleasant associations and fortunate ventures.

Hmmm…my spiders were quite large I think, I noted the “gold spiders” in case my “tanned” ones could be considered “gold”, and I also noted “kill a spider” since I was swatting at the ones closer to me to get to the ones closer to my daughter and they did seem to kind of “disappear”.

What do you think?

One Response to “Dream…Spiders”

  • UGH! spiders.. I had my most horrible and memorable nightmare (I almost NEVER have nightmares as a lucid dreamer, so any are memorable) in high school and it was a twin dream, one where I woke up and fell back to sleep only to return to the dream. They were huge spiders, mates, and I’d killed the first one before waking, but the mate came after me in the second dream.

Incidently, I’m still waiting for that fortune it was supposed to forecast… lol
