It’s been a rough week…

PhotobucketAt least in the night and weekend meal department. I continue to drink water throughout the day, do some sort of exercise each day, and even ate mini meals from the moment I woke up til I get home. Yet when it comes to evenings at home with family, Wednesday-Friday have been rough. Arby’s (Italian sandwich & curly fries along with nibbles of kids DQ chicken fingers, McDonalds (Big Mac & fries), Randy’s Pizza (GIANT pepperoni & cheese slices), and even Krispy Kreme (I was craving a creme filled doughnut!!) became my rendezvous points. How embarrassing, can I say that I feel that all that exercising felt like a waste in the tummy section? Not only did I feel like crap after binging as if I wouldn’t see another meal but I felt guilty for the other hard work I put in this week. Boo…

And tomorrow is Sunday, the 4th of July. The BIG BBQ pork day (I’m from the South!) along with beer and other side dishes. What am I to do?? I want to enjoy the day and evening with family and friends (and bbq and beer…lol).

Today the kids and I are going hiking and I’ll be drinking my water. I’ll be sure to get in my water tomorrow as well but OMG…all that pressure all around!! I’m afraid that pressure will find it’s way pressing my innards and making me feel even more horrified on Monday!

I’ve become to realize that managing my meals while working during the day is so much easier than outside. I have my mini cooler for the day and at home, I either skip the mini-meal plan or binge eating out…HELP! I literally could look as if I was 5 months pregnant after eating (which thankfully goes back down – to a degree…the next morning, but STILL!!)

OH sweetie!! Put it behind you! This coming week will be much better for you! :)

Just curious, besides guilty, how did you feel after you ate all of the non-healthy stuff?

I know that I always feel REALLY crummy when I eat all of those kinds of foods, so what keeps me from eating them, is the fear that I'm going to get sick after I DO eat them!

Before you stick something in your mouth, think about how it makes you feel!

Also, if you're going to eat fast foods, I would really think about NOT eating the fries or the fried parts. I know that none of it is really good for you at all, but if you just have to eat it, eat the lesser of two evils. :)

Another thing would be.. thinking about all of the money you spent on the fast and not so good foods… and then think about how much fresh produce that would have purchased for your family!! :) :)

Hugs girl! It will get better for you this week!! Stay strong babe! Stay strong!!

Everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect! We all have slip ups now and then. Keep your chin up and don't worry about it. Just learn from it and try to do better going forward!

I say enjoy your BBQ in moderation.

    Have a great 4th!

I know, I know…perhaps if i drink enough water throughout the day I'll not be as tempted to eat so much. I'm still trying to decide on a good dish to bring that's both yummy and not that unhealthy.

*Big Hugs* You know what the best thing is about the morning? Is that it is a new day. Fresh. New Start. Think of it as you had a great learning week this past week. You have learned what works best and what you need to work on.

Perhaps advanced meal planning or breaking our your crock pot will help next week?

We ALL have those weeks that you just had. Chin up sweetheart, the we can either be stuck in that same pattern… or we can learn and move on… and continue on our quest to live a healthy and active life. :)

Way to go on your water and exercise… that is a BIG plus… and something to be proud of!

Have a great weekend… and I look forward to reading about your NEXT week and how totally awesome it will be! :)

Thanks Rachel! Yes, I've definitely learned things that I need to keep in mind every time. Bad food, while it may taste good at the moment, makes me feel bad in all ways. Meal planning is something that works for me and something I need to work on even when home or on the go.

Bless you for your transparency! You have the perfect idea – take along a dish that you KNOW is healthy for you to eat, then sample a bit or two of your absolute favorites. And be sure to bring a drink that you enjoy (fresh lemonade?) so you can avoid the alcohol tomorrow. Cheering you on!! @ShawneeH

It happens to the best of us! You feel bad immediately afterwards, but the best way to redeem yourself and lift your spirits is to put it behind you and continue to stick to the plan as soon as you can. So try to stay strong and keep up the good work!!!
